The social team at Clemson was working on an educational piece about Clemson University research and black holes. They wanted to highlight it in a creative way and asked if I could help demonstrate the theory of black holes in an engaging way. I wanted whatever I created artistically to match the science and theory as well, so I reached out to the researcher with the renders to make sure they were accurate. Since we haven't actually seen black holes, models of black holes are just are best approximations as to what they would look like.

There were other creators that had done the calculations and developed a lensing setup that you could recreate in 3D software. I used those lensing setups as the base model for accuracy and then created the renders you see here in Blender. It was such a fun and rewarding challenge to create an engaging, educational carousel for social.
